It combines both. The cardboard surface provides a dedicated scratching spot, while the triangular design includes a sheltered space for exploring and quiet downtime.
Choose a dry, stable and level indoor surface near an area your cat already enjoys. Keep the entrance clear and avoid damp spaces or locations beside water bowls.
Use a soft brush or vacuum to gently remove loose cardboard and hair. Do not soak or wash the cardboard, as moisture can weaken its structure.
Some loose cardboard pieces are normal as your cat scratches. Clear away debris regularly and check the scratching surface and structure for signs of heavy wear.
Give your cat time to investigate. Place it in a quiet, familiar area and allow them to approach naturally. Avoid forcing them into the hideaway.
Replace it when the scratching surface is heavily worn, the structure loses its shape, or the cardboard becomes wet or damaged. How long it lasts depends on your cat’s scratching habits.
